The annual Patch Holders’ Ride is scheduled to begin the morning of Tuesday, August 20th, in Golden CO, taking us through the Arapahoe and Rosevelt National Forests as well as the Rocky Mountain National Park and Arapahoe National Wildlife Refuge.

We will ride north along the Front Range, and then go west into the Rockies via Boulder Canyon to Nederland. At Nederland we will continue north to Estes Park, passing several +14,000” peaks along the way. To complete D01 we travel deeper into the mountains for our overnight in Steamboat Springs CO.

On Wednesday, D02, we ride the northwestern perimeter of the mountain range and then cut back to Laramie WY for our second overnight.

D03, Thursday, is hammer down on I-80 to meet up with the rest of OHC at Lake McConaughy NE for our Summer Gathering.

OHC-CO will host our annual Summer Gathering 2023. Details to follow.

OHC-TX will host our annual 2023 Spring Gathering. Details to follow.

Northern tribes will coordinate and update accordingly.

OHC, in cooperation with Alive Outside, will ride in the 2022 Bo Bikes Bama. This is a long-distance road bicycle ride to benefit the Alabama Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund, which has funded many relief projects and constructed 68 safe rooms, among other disaster preparedness resources.

Due to COVID restriction, the 10th annual 2021 event is being conducted virtually, today. It should be interesting to be part of this live event next year. Everyone has plenty of time to train. If you need a bike, you know some people for that. That’s an event we can track our training and motivate one another on Strava.

The 2022 schedule, route, etc. are TBD. We’ll keep this event page updated.

Spring Gathering Schedule

The itinerary is somewhat flexible, with most time spent simply hanging out together.  OHC business is scheduled for review, discussion and voting at 1300 Friday, with Ring Issue at 1730.  Any unfinished business may be address by/at breakfast Sunday morning. 

OHC members traveling to TX will [rent vehicles] link up with OHC-TX in Dallas.  We will remain in Dallas overnight and pick up any late arrivals by 1200 CST on Friday.  Traveling members will depart Basecamp NLT 1100 to return rental cars and fly out.

Guns & Ammo for the Range

OHC-TX members will provide personal pistols for use on the range.  We can source 9mm & .45 cal ammunition locally.  Those who would like to participate, please get an OHC-TX member so we can acquire supplies in advance.     

Golf Course Considerations

We will all participate in the golf event. We need a solid headcount (RSVP) ASAP so we can make applicable reservations. Lake Waco Golf Club will supply our clubs and allow us to share. This is a BYOB course, so we will bring stocked coolers & shots. We can source cigars locally. Let Slaughter know if you’d like one.

OHC-CO will host our annual Elk Hunt., basing out of OHC-CO HQ. This is a limited member event that requires physical conditioning and marksmanship preparation. For more information or to be added to the roster, contact D. Holm.

OHC-TX Patch Holders will host members and guests for the Lone Star Rally in Galveston TX. *Friends and family are welcome but they may have to find their own lodging arrangements.

Our IRP will be Waco TX and we will down for the event. Out-of-state members can fly into Austin, rent motorcycles there and ride down with us.

OHC-TX will host a fishing trip weekend on the Gulf Coast of Port Aransas TX. We will (RV) camp at the beach. *This is a Friends & Family trip, so everyone is welcome. This is intended to be a low-key, relaxing event where we will fish from the shore and eat what we harvest.

Our IRP is Waco TX and we will convoy south from there. Out-of-state members can fly into Austin TX and we will pick them up on the way down.

In official association with Derwood & RTMR, OHC will host a ride from Austin to Devil’s Backbone & back.

Day One

Guests will check in at 8:30am, receive their VIP package items and be fully briefed on the run.  The group will depart Austin Speed Shop at 9:00am and ride to Rogue American for Invader Coffee and Dagger 8 Armory Defensive Pistol footwork drills, in preparation for the next day’s range training.  From Rogue American the group will make a pitstop in Woodcreek and then be guided on the Devil’s Backbone route:

·       From Woodcreek to Blanco on TX RM-2325

·       Back around from Blanco, through Fischer, to Devil’s Backbone Tavern & Dancehall on TX FM-32 

At Devil’s Backbone Tavern & Dancehall guests will be treated to lunch.  After lunch the group will ride back to Austin, via Driftwood, and conclude at the Travis County Expo Center for a hosted post-ride event.

Day Two

Lots of people ride armed but rarely, if ever, train to defend themselves from a riding platform.  On Day Two guests are invited to participate in a Defense Pistol training session at the Onion Creek Gun Club.  This will be a “live fire” training event centered around pistol employment as it relates to considerations for defending yourself from a motorcycle.  This training will focus on concealed carry positioning and protecting yourself when you are out riding.  This is a fun and unique experience with practical, real-world application.
