Single-Day Distance Record Run 2202

On April 24th 2022 we are riding, purposefully across two deserts and four states, from Pasadena CA to Mexia TX, attempting to complete the ride in less than 24 hours.  This is meant to establish a new OHC Single-Day Distance Run Record of 1,537.  Depending on our average recorded speeds and overall Ride Time, this may also be an Iron Butt Association Bun Burner 1500 Gold qualifier.

Riders will meet for a pre-ride breakfast and brief, at Denny’s in Old Town Pasadena CA.  At 1000 PST riders will depart the IRP, heading southeast through the Sonoran Desert.  We will zigzag the desert, riding south to Yuma, then north to Phoenix (for the milage) and then south again through Tucson to Lordsburg NM for our scheduled Safety Stop at approx. 2200 Local (+10:00 Ride Time).

Everything after that is Texas, through the Chihuahuan Desert and across the Hill Country Plain to the Blackland Prairie.  We ride into El Paso on I-10, splitting off just past Bakersfield at US Hwy 190 riding west to Mexia.  Our ETA is approx. 1200 CST (+22:03 Ride Time).

Riding for a purpose…for this run, we will be encouraging our friends and family as well as folks we meet along the way to support Motorcycle Missions.  We will post our progress via social media so people can follow the journey in real time and easily make charitable donations.  Our goal is to raise $1537.

We will not have a Road Crew (safely/supply vehicle) accompanying us.  Ensure that you have prepared / packed everything you need on your bike.  Waterproof packing your gear is recommended.
